Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Terence Tan
Dr. Terence Tan is the founder of Halley Medical Aesthetics and Halley Body Slimming Clinic. He has a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Master of Medicine (Surgery) from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He also obtained his surgical qualifications with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2003.
Under his leadership, both medical clinics received multiple awards including the “Golden Record Award” by Merz Aesthetics in 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023 for Ultherapy treatment and the “Merz Aesthetics Singapore Ultherapy Transducers Winner” award in 2022. In the area of anti-ageing and facial contouring with dermal fillers, Halley Medical Aesthetics won Allergan Aesthetics’ Facial Aesthetics Gold Award in 2022 and 2023 as well as Galderma Aesthetics’ Alliance Awards in 2022 and 2023.
Dr. Terence Tan is actively involved in research that will improve the care and treatment outcome of medical aesthetic treatments. He has a special interest in the use of cryolipolysis or freezing temperature to remove unwanted body fat for body contouring. His research has been presented in international meetings from Monaco and Spain to Japan, China, and the Middle East.
Dr. Shoun Tan
Dr. Shoun Tan holds a MBBS from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and a Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine (GDFM) from the College of Family Physicians Singapore. He has more than six years of medical aesthetics experience under his belt, and his practice is centred on injectables — including dermal fillers, biostimulators, and botulinum toxins — alongside laser and energy-based skin lifting and firming treatments.
Dr. Shoun is currently part of the Allergan Trainer development pathway and he is also a member of the Society of Aesthetic Medicine (Singapore).
Dr. Shoun has a special interest in designing treatment protocols that combine injectables with device-based technologies such as high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), radiofrequency (RF), and laser to optimise patient outcomes.

Are skin boosters the same thing as fillers?
What is a skin booster?
Skin boosters are injectable treatments that deliver hyaluronic acid or other biostimulating ingredients like polynucleotides to hydrate the skin from within, improve texture, and enhance overall skin quality. Unlike dermal fillers, they are not designed to add volume.
How do skin booster differ from dermal fillers?
Skin boosters focus on hydration and improving skin quality rather than adding volume or reshaping features. Fillers are used for contouring and correcting deeper volume loss.
What skin concerns can skin boosters address?
Skin boosters can help with dryness, fine lines (especially from dehydration), dullness, uneven skin tone and texture, hydrate dry skin, and improve skin radiance.
How many sessions are needed?
Usually a series of treatments spaced a one month apart yields optimal results. The exact number depends on the skin’s baseline condition and treatment plan discussed during consultation with our doctor.
What is the downtime / recovery like?
Recovery is relatively minimal. Patients may notice swelling, redness, or mild bruising at injection sites which usually resolves in a few days. Most can return to normal activities shortly after treatment.
Who should avoid skin boosters?
Although most people are suitable for skin boosters, there may be some people with skin conditions that may make them an unsuitable candidate. We recommend that you speak to our doctor who will address all your concerns during consultation.
Aftercare - what to do and avoid?
Minimal post-treatment care is needed. But you may want to avoid applying makeup immediately after treatment to reduce infection risk. Our doctors will also advise you on post-treatment care during consultation.
